Vertical KM Vrsuta 5km / 1.000D+

The start of VK Vrsuta OPEN (vertical km format) is on the outskirts of Sutomore, near the village of Zankovici, from where the hiking tours usually start. The start is planned for Friday, June 28, 2024 at 7:15 a.m. (15 minutes after the start of the World Junior Championship). It is also the first race that opens the event. Saturday will be a rest day for everyone before the SkyTrail and SkyRace formats.

From the center of Sutomore, the main road and the bus station, the start can be reached by narrow paved streets of the village, the distance is less than 1 km.

From the start, the trail goes uphill and after about a hundred meters turns right towards the Mirosica stream. After crossing the stream (which has a dry bed during the summer), the path continues uphill and very quickly emerges on bare terrain. The view opens to the sea, which follows the runners almost all the time and is more and more beautiful as the climb increases. The ground on the track is rocky, practically the entire length of the race and is mostly a narrow "single trail", which often winds in tight turns with a constant climb.

At about 2.2 km from the start, the ascent becomes gentler for the next 500-600 m in length. The trail is almost levelled to the pass (2.8 km from the start). After the pass, the path continues to climb in serpentines directly to the top of Vrsut. In this second part of the track, the ascent is by average steeper than in the first part, so runners should take this into account and carefully choose running tactics.

At the fourth kilometer, a fork in the hiking trail awaits you and you go left, towards the top. (Refreshments with water will be placed here). You still have a little more than 1 km to go, the path goes through open terrain, serpentines all the way to the top.

The transportation will be organized for the competitors from the top of Vrsut (finish) to the race start, in groups. It is also possible to reach the finish line by off-road or even passenger vehicles from the direction of Sutorman. The limit is 2 hours from the start, so 9:15. Poles are recommended but not required. If you take them, you must carry them with you to the end. Mandatory equipment is a mobile phone and a cup, which is subject to change, depending on the conditions before the race. If one item is missing - disqualification.

There is no organized transportation from Bar, you just come to the start (there are also local regular lines Bar - Sutomore).
All additional information about the race will be presented through the final email, the race guide (Race Guide 2024) and at the technical meeting on June 27, 2024, Thursday at 9:00 p.m. in the race office in Bar.

Pickup of race packages - the race office in Bar will be open on June 27, 2024 (Thursday) from 6 to 11 p.m. Packages must be picked up in person and a medical certificate is not required for this race. We will announce the exact location of the race office sometime in spring.

Applications open at the end of January, and close on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. at 4 p.m. (this means that payments must be made by then). Race package contains a unique finisher's medal and a cotton tank top, and the early registration period lasts until February 5, 2024. The registration fee is 2,400 dinars until that date (20 euros). After that date, the registration fee is 3,600 dinars (30 euros).

Applications are, as always, on the trka.rs portal. The participant minibus is not organized.

Each runner must wear the bib number in a visible place, on the front. That means between the chest and the hips. Wear it on a T-shirt, it must not be covered! You must not bend it because the chip breaks. Losing a bib number is an automatic disqualification. All complaints should be sent to our email - skyrunning.montenegro@gmail.com within 48 hours after the race. After that, complaints are not considered.

The race has an ISF certificate and it hosts the World Junior Championship where over 40 nations from 5 continents are expected.

Rumija SkyTrail 12km / 800D+

A great trail for the categories Youth A-B for the World Championship, so for the youngest and for the OPEN race, an ideal trail for beginners and a nice training.

The start is planned for June 30 (Sunday) 2024 from Old Bar at 7:15 a.m. to avoid extreme heat. OPEN race together with SkyRace start in the morning, 15 minutes after the start of the World Junior Championship. The path takes you on cobblestones through the heart of Old Bar and the walls of the fortress towards the Menke bridge near the climbing area and from there you part ways with the competitors who are going for 21 km.

You continue straight towards Mali Mikulici, along the old stony caravan roads until you reach the asphalt. From there you run along the ridge paths to Baltina, where you cross again with SkyRace. There is CP1 Baltine at the 7th km.

After that, you descend through the picturesque Turcine and the Bunar riverbed near the Menka bridge, where you diverge after the first few km. A "live intersection" awaits you there (10.5 km from the start). Follow the same path to the finish line in the center of Old Bar.

At the finish line there is a mandatory equipment check and the cutoff is at 11:15 a.m. (4 hours from the start).

Sky Race Rumija 21 km / 1.600 D+

Top SkyRace (OPEN), ISF certified course, World Junior Championship course in 2024. Limestone, technical sections, long ascents, view of the Lake Skadar, the Adriatic Sea and finish line in the heart of Old Bar.

It is rare that a race offers such conditions and infrastructure, and does not lag behind the massifs that go over 2,000 m.a.s.l. The reason is simple, you start almost from sea level.

The start is planned for June 30 (Sunday) 2024 from Old Bar at 7:15 a.m. to avoid extreme heat. OPEN race together with SkyTrail start in the morning, 15 minutes after the start of the World Junior Championship. The road leads you along the cobblestones through the heart of Old Bar and the walls of the fortress towards the Menka bridge near the climbing area and from there you turn right up the hill towards Ljumetici (there you have water/spring). From there, you continue up the hill and come out onto the asphalt not far from the Russian monastery, where all hiking tours usually start. There is the first CP up to which you will gain almost 1,000 m of ascent, so CP-1 at the 7th km (there is a time limit - 9:15) where refreshments and water (unlimited quantity) await you. From there, you have the steepest climb on this trail (limestone 2 km and almost 600 m of ascent) and you reach the top of Rumija 1,594 m.a.s.l. and the CP-2 (9th km). There is only a check point and the time limit is until 10:45 (3 hours and 30 minutes from the start).
From there, you have a difficult ridge, full of limestone with few running options. The view is fantastic and you go all the way to Bjela Skala, the 14th km of the race (920 m.a.s.l.) and CP-3 (only check point and you have a spring/well). After that, you have descent to Baltina and the second "cutting" of the asphalt where CP-4 is located on the 16th km of the race. There is a check point and refreshment. Water is unlimited.

The limit is 12:45 p.m., 5 hours and 30 minutes from the start.

After that, you descend through the picturesque Turcine and the Bunar river bed all the way to the Menka bridge, where you split off after the first few kilometers. There you will find a "live intersection" on the 19.5 km of the race. Follow the same path to the finish line in the center of Old Bar.

At the finish line there is a mandatory equipment check and the cutoff at 2:15 p.m. (7 hours from start)

Time limits:

• CP-1 – Manastir 9:15 (7. km of the race, 2 hours from the start)
• CP-2 – Rumija 10:45 (9. km of the race, 3 hours 30 min from the start)
• CP-3 – Bjela Skala 12:15 (14. km of the race, 5 hours from the start)
• CP-4 – Baltine 12:45 (16. km of the race, 5 hours 30 min from the start)
• Finish – Old Bar 14:15 (7 hours from the start)

The race has also received new UTMB points, and also has an ISF track certificate for the World Cup.

Be sure to carry enough water with you, weather will be warm.

Mandatory equipment: astro-foil, mobile phone, cup and whistle. If one item is missing - disqualification. We recommend poles, but you cannot leave them at the check points. We especially recommend the GPS with the race route inserted! You must be semi-autonomous (water, gels, etc.).

The race office will also be open on Friday, June 28, from 8 to 10 p.m., and on Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will announce the exact location of the race office sometime in spring.

The race package contains a unique finisher's medal and an active tank top, and the early registration period lasts until February 5, 2024. The registration fee is 3,000 dinars until that date (25 euros). After that date, the registration fee is 4,100 dinars (35 euros).
